The LAOUG holds quarterly full-day (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) conferences
at the Norwalk Marriott Hotel in
Norwalk, California, just south of Los Angeles off the 5
Freeway. Conference fees for non-members are $40 per person.
However, a $100 annual membership includes
all conferences for that calendar year. Click here for
map and address information. Lunch and refreshments are
included in the price of the conference. The conferences typically
have four lecture tracks.
Topics for lectures generally fall into one of four categories:
- DBA (Database Administrator)
- Relational Database Design
- Developer Tools (Client Application Development)
- Web Development (Front End for Three Tier Architecture)
Each track is held in its own conference room and normally has
four sessions throughout the day; so each conference provides
up to sixteen special interest lectures. Tracks
includepresentations tailored to meet the needs of novice Oracle
Users as well as experienced Oracle Developers and Database
Administrators.
Attendees are not limited to one track; they may attend sessions
from different tracks throughout the day. When you RSVP for
a conference, please indicate all the tracks you plan to attend
sessions in.
In addition, the LAOUG presents a Vendor
Forum, which gives Oracle Users the opportunity to learn about
the latest products and services available to Oracle
community. Third-party vendors of Oracle related products have
booths in the Vendor Forum.
Visit enough vendor booths during the day, have the vendors stamp
the card you'll be provided with at registration, and you'll qualify
for the drawing for door prizes at the end of the day.
YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN!!!
Following the door prize drawing the LAOUG Board holds a short
business meeting. Any member interested in serving as a
volunteer in the operations of the LAOUG is invited to attend.
The LAOUG is run almost entirely by volunteers.
