| Annual
Membership |
| Q: |
Why does a
corporate six-person membership cost more than six individual
memberships. |
|
| A: |
A corporate membership allows an
organization to send any six people they choose to any of the
conferences for that calendar year. Individual memberships are
not transferrable; an idividual member may not send someone else in
their place. |
|
| |
| Q: |
Why can't I
purchase an annual membership before the third or fourth quarter
conference and have it run through purchase date the following year? |
|
| A: |
The LAOUG is run almost entirely by
volunteers. Our volunteer staff currently uses manual
procedures for membership billing. If anyone is interested in
volunteering to implement automated procedures and payment by credit
card please attend the board meeting held during lunch at the next
conference. |

| Recruitment |
| Q: |
Can I get a copy
of the LAOUG membeship roster? |
|
| A: |
No. |
|
| |
| Q: |
Can I post
job opportunities on the LAOUG web site or have you email
them to your members? |
|
| A: |
No. Many of our members have their
memberships purchased by their employers, who would not appreciate
it. |
|
| |
| Q: |
How can my
company recruit at your meetings? |
|
| A: |
We allow only two recruiters to have
booths in our Vendor Forum at each conference...
occasionally an employer has even complained about this
practice. |
|
| |
| Q: |
May I attend
LAOUG conferences and attempt to recruit other attendees
during breaks and lunch? |
|
| A: |
Yes. |

| Q: |
What do you mean
when you say that the LAOUG is run "almost" entirely by
volunteers? |
|
| A: |
Most of the work is done by board members. All board
members are volunteers. The LAOUG pays one individual a small
amount each quarter for performing some conference related
clerical duties. This individual is not a board member, and is
worth far more than we pay her.
